I was given a non-working example of the above (700F version) by an elderly relative, and I'd rather like to bring it back to serviceable standard to enjoy some of its sentimental value as an alternative daily.

Truthfully, I don't want to spend loads on a watch that isn't going to be worth a great deal in the end (I have other watches to waste that money on). However, it would be really great to get it back to good, usable condition while retaining some of the patina (part of the sentimental value).

I had planned to take it to a watch guy who was recommended to me by a colleague - he's based in Piccadilly Circus station, for those who might know - with a view to replacing the battery, cleaning up the gubbins, replacing the strap (I've sourced an original Seiko example) and potentially replacing the scratched crystal.

Firstly, can anyone recommend me a good/better, but reasonably-priced, repair service in London (ideally City, East End or SE).
Secondly, how much is reasonable to pay for the above? I know that a battery can be had for a few pounds, and crystal bought for ~£20 from Ebay, but I appreciate that the repairer needs to make a living.
Thirdly, the crystal isn't too badly or deeply scratched. How feasible is it to polish this back to an acceptable standard (in keeping with the 'worn' look), rather than replacing?

Thanks in advance.
