Hi Folks

I'm looking for a watch in this modest price bracket and would welcome any suggestions, as I know literally nothing about watches! I've actually not worn one in quite a few years.

I have small girly wrists biggrin so metal bracelets are out as they can't normally be adjusted downwards enough to fit properly.

I was thinking about maybe something with a nice clean uncluttered face and either a brown (preferably) or black leather strap.

Thanks smile

I'd agree, given your requirements, Skagen make some stylish watches for the price.

I got a nice Tissot from them for about £150 down from £245 I think it was. They always have offers and sales on for cheaper brands all the way up to the more expensive ones so always worth checking.

I have a thin wrist, about 16 or 16.5cm.
I recently bought one of these direct from the manufactures
http://www.autran-viala.com/shop/en/plano/

It’s 40mm diameter, Bauhaus inspired and very easy to read with just a quick glance.

I hadn’t worn a watch for years but I am very pleased with, both the quality and the price.
I think that on my wrist, 40mm is the biggest size I would go to. It’s also quite thin at 6.6mm.

I actually bought the Plano Nurnburg with a soft suede strap, which is very comfortable but leather strap models are also available.

Total cost including shipping was about £108. They ship within two weeks of order but when once it’s shipped it arrives quickly as they use a 24 hour shipping service with tracking.

It has a Ronda 715 quartz movement, which I think is one of Ronda’s more upmarket quartz movements with five jewels.
Autran & Viala are a brand within the German Ickler group.
