TVR Motorsport, Knock ! Knock !
Discussion
Could just be a wild rumour, but a little bird has whispered in my ear that the much loved and respected John Reid may well be hanging up his boots ,so to speak, leaving TVR motorsport rudderless.
This may be bollox, but it came from a good and trustworthy sorce.
Well at least it will now work well with the direction of main company

TVR weren't backing it anyway...

...and John is committed to running it with or without TVR...

August 2004: TVR announce they will not run the Tuscan Challenge, but will supply engines and parts if someone else wants to organise a series
September 2004: TVR announce that they have changed their mind and will run a race series - predominantly the old Tuscans but with a range of new race cars (T350, Tuscan targa or Sagaris). It will be 'bigger and better' than anything seen to date
Since then it appears TVR had another change of heart and decided reverted to the August position.
John has organised a race calendar through the BRSCC. I'm not quite sure of the chronology, but I gather that John has put a lot of effort into ensuring there is a series in his own time and with no reward from TVR. I don't know the circumstances behind John's leaving TVR.
Fred - there is no factory race team any more, no hospitality unit, etc etc. I can't see the factory employing another race manager at the moment, can you?

I don't think it makes any difference at all to the 2005 series. TVR weren't backing it anyway and John is committed to running it with or without TVR. As I understand it TVR will continue to supply engines to the series and make parts.
I feel like the "straight Man" in the comady duo style, I'll set um up, you tell the jokes
There again you knew I'd put it out

Sadly it is true
Yes, it is true that John Reid is no longer with TVR, BUT he is right at the centre of keeping TVR Tuscan racing alive. John remains the co-ordinator for the Tuscan Challenge 2005 and has access to the race spares.
The Tuscans will be racing at Castle Combe on 30th May.

Does this mean that John can/will supply parts for Tuscans instead of or as well as the factory? Or are these just spares for the kosher racers? Basically, if the 'non racing' folks want Tuscan bits is John or the factory the first port of call now?
