I have just been invited to an engagement party for one of my friends, at the Builders Arms somewhere in Kensington, W8.

As my Dad lived there for years and years, I emailed him to ask if he knew where it was. Here is his reply:

"The Builders was where I met up with all the boys one evening after the Rosslyn Park trials and I had been selected for the Park First Squad pre season tour. Jackson said 'First Rosslyn Park, then England' and some other geezer mis-heard and thought that I'd been selected for the England XV. People I'd never seen before started buying me drinks to celebrate my first cap! Things then got v. silly - good job my flat was only 200 yards away in Queen's Gate Terrace. Had to drive home, couldn't walk.

Good old days (when winning your first cap meant getting absolutely wasted)."

Tut tut! Thought it was pretty funny though!

"Shall we have another one boys?"

"Why not, not far to walk. Only to the car!"

Builders Arms is actually a very nice pub - well it was when I was last there as a student.

But I would take an A to Z so you can work out how to get to the tube.
