Silverstone European Le Mans Series - photo gallery

Hi there,

Trying something a little different following on from my visit to the 1st round of the European Le Mans Series at Silverstone recently.

For me a big part of photographing motorsport is to capture the cars and their differing designs and liveries. Its great to see how the different designers have worked within the regulations to create the various cars and how the teams have taken these cars and added the liveries of their sponsors etc.

So I thought after getting home and working through my images that I would post a gallery of all 43 cars that entered the event and to make it a little different I am posting them in the order they crossed the finish line.

2015 saw the introduction of the LMP3 class to the ELMS and the Silverstone round last year saw 5 Ginetta's take to the track. This year there were 19 cars in the LMP3 class with no less than 18 Ligier JS P3's and a solitary Ginetta (which wasn't even badged as a Ginetta but an Ave-Riley). For me LMP3 is a real success although perhaps a bit to much like a one make series.

Great set of pictures and they really allow you to compare the different designs. The rear wing on the BRM01 is much ,much lower than the rest of the other LPM2 cars and the Ginetta LMP3 is the best looking LMP3 car.
