Thought I should maybe start a build thread. Basically I had a 206 GTI that required a new rear axle. I also had an audi S3 which i originally bought for the engine for my lotus. Due to a change of plans with the Lotus the Audi had sat there for the past 2 years.
Anyway to cut a long story short the idea is to remove the floor pan from the 206 and graft the S3 floor/chassis/engine into it, sling some WRC bodywork at it and a cage and use it for some track days.
Now I have a pretty well equipped garage and used to work for Zcars so Im not totally new to this kind of thing. So far I have the 206 stripped and the floor removed/body prepped and have started on removing the floor from the audi.

started the stripping of the car

Next was to weld some braces in to help stop it twisting once the floor was removed.

Then the floor came out

Now I wanted to make as much space as possible to get the front bucket seats in so ive removed a section along the sill and plated it flat to give more room for the seat between the tunnel.

All welded in and a coat of etch added to stop the rust getting at it.

Bit more welding to tie the original inner sill together

And that was pretty much as far as I can go with the 206 untill the Audi is stripped. This is now on the ramp and Ive started the task of labelling all the wiring etc. The loom is all disconnected now and the rear end and tank is ready to drop straight off.

If anyone is interested I will try and update the thread as often as possible.

Interesting and fun, but I just don't understand why you would want an s3 to look like a 206...
Feel free to try to explain it to me!
Either way, I hope you enjoy it, I just don't really get these kind of projects.

Its not an s3 looking like a 206, it's a 206 with 4wd and a 2.0 turbo engine.

Just the right amount of mental.
