Hi,

Apologies for asking this as I have failed on the internet. My local jeweller has this watch that he may be willing to sell on behalf of a customer (he mainly deals with other jewellery - I came across it as we were sorting out wedding bands). On the original paperwork (it was bought at a Chopard dealer in Monaco) the dealer's stamp pretty much obscures the date of purchase. The jeweller said that he thought the customer bought it in 2013 but the model looks older than this. I cannot find what years Chopard made this particular model or any idea as to what it may be worth, but I do really like it...

Does anyone have any ideas? Cheers

Thanks! I had found some for sale but none of them seemed to suggest the date. It seems like from what I can make out of the date stamp that it is either from 2003 or 2013 so from your last link it must be a 2013 watch as the jeweller thought. Cheers!

Very nice looking beast....

Ok so I have been deliberating over this for quite some time.....

I'm about to pull the trigger on it for £2600. Very hard to work out what this watch is actually worth with very few of them (especially wth a metal strap) on the market and none I can find in the UK.

Anyone any ideas if this is a reasonable price for one (original box and papers etc all in order)? What do the experts think of it as a timepiece?

£2600 is good compared to the five listed on C24, of which the cheapest is a private seller, and the next two are dealers.
The last pair are outside the EU – so VAT will be added, making their higher prices even more so.

Presuming that price is what you’ve haggled it down to, then it’s simply a case of do you like/love it enough to ratify the purchase, or are you thinking “a few hundred more, and I could have this or that instead”?
If the latter, then maybe it’s just not the one for you.

Thanks - yes that's what price has been agreed to include a polish and a 1 year guarantee for any repairs up to £200 (which I appreciate isn't much but I think he's genuine on the small margin he is making on it).

I do really like it as has some motor racing associations and was bought in Monaco plus I think it's a fairly timeless design - all in my opinion of course.

So - the deal is done and should pick it up once it's been polished! Hopefully the movement will last without some catastrophic problem!

Think you've got a cracking deal there. I doubt you'll ever lose much on it either.

I'd get a couple of racing-style straps - one in brown and one in black with red stitching as personally I think these suit a strap more than the bracelet.

Well done, OP!
