What GMT watch ?
Discussion
Pondering the purchase of a watch to celebrate a promotion, and have a hankering for a GMT watch of some sort.
Would like something that can be worn both smart and casual, and no particular preference whether it's a chronograph or not.
Budget is 'not cheap', but equally I can't run to a Rolex. Needs to be new not pre-owned. Current collection covers Seiko to Dornbluth via Sinn and Breitling, so no particular brand affiliation.
So, suggestions gratefully received

Sinn would be my choice out of the brands you mentioned, loads of great watches
Also Damasko.

Thanks - I've had a look at the Sinns before, and I do like them, but they are a little bit utilitarian in some ways.
I've been having a closer look at Omegas, but it seems the 300M GMT is no longer a current model (in non-chronograph form at any rate), and I've also been looking at Grand Seikos. Both of these are starting to push the notional budget a bit though...

I also found this picture - if they made one of these I'd have one in a heartbeat:

That fictional Pelagos GMT is lovely. I just got the Omega Planet Ocean GMT for £3750 from Iconic Watches. It's a proper quick set GMT so works well for travelling. I have this one:
There are other colour combinations and also comes on a rubber strap which can be cheaper. It's quite big at 43.5mm but I manage with skinny, girly wrists.

I quite like those, but the price is at the top end (even applying 'man maths') if I'm honest...There are other colour combinations and also comes on a rubber strap which can be cheaper. It's quite big at 43.5mm but I manage with skinny, girly wrists.
To resurrect this thread from a while back, a colleague has just bought one of these:

I know TAGs aren't well liked around here but this is actually quite nice. The bracelet isn't much to write home about but the face and bezel are clean and usable. Clearly it's a TAG homage of a Rolex GMT-II BLNR. List price is around £1,500 but he paid less at the airport. Having seen it in the flesh I quite like it.
