Caterham C400 - Petty Strut
Discussion
Good morning,
I am presently rebuilding the C400 race over for the oncoming Mag 7 race series and was wondering if this petty strut offers any additional rigidity if the car has the full SLR roll cage? If this is the case then it is worth keeping otherwise it is an additional item that can be removed to reduce the weight.
Any help much appreciated.
Thanks
Ross

I have actually no actual knowledge - and while I can see that it might be beneficial if you had no full cage, with one, as you imply, I can't see it doing a lot. But since it's only attached by 2 bolts it's easy enough to remove and do a back to back test. Another advantage of removing it is that you can then get an instructor in the passenger side if you want to.I am presently rebuilding the C400 race over for the oncoming Mag 7 race series and was wondering if this petty strut offers any additional rigidity if the car has the full SLR roll cage?
