I don't know why they bothered making this video, the synchro's do all the work don't they? winkhehe

Must say I'm not keen on the sport button doing the job for you.

If its the same as the 981 GTS then yes you just press Sport and it does the rest. Not to my taste but I guess some folks like it.

The complete antithesis of going for a manual in the first place!

So does Sport+ turn it off again?

That video is Porsche PR BS at its worst.

Conclusion seemed to be 'don't bother. Let the car do it itself'. Cringe. Gorgeous car, though.

The sport button on the r doesn't affect engine mapping , it's an auto blip on and off switch

And it's the wrong way around: there's nothing sporty about getting the car to blip the throttle for you. It should be called the 'I can't drive' button.

Some would say that of ABS. Don't like driver aids - buy a Caterham.

It's not all or nothing! Auto-blipping isn't a driving aid; it's replacing a manual box with a semi-automatic box, as you no longer control one of the elements of the gear change.

You may like it, but there's no analogy with ABS.

I was talking about the Sport button, not heel-and-toe.

I may have misunderstood you. Sport button just engages the auto-blip so you don't have to heel and toe.

Agreed, ghastly. Tinted hair, tight trousers on old men. Rot. People who can't cope unless they've spent more money than the next chopper. So much I'd rather have.

Jesus, that was a hard watch. Cringeworthy.

I think the intention was genuine, but they simplified it too much and the message is unclear.

At least he mentioned about unsettling the rear end.

That slight buzz you hear in the background is Ferdinand Porsche rotating in his grave at the rev limiter.

Unsettling the rear end in a straightline under very modest braking? You'd have to slam the gear home with no revs at all. Complete bks.
