Hello
I've been wondering about some music or radio for my caterham, which I use everyday. There is an existing headphone based system but I'm not keen on driving about with headphones on.
I could probably get by with something simple like a Bluetooth speaker which I could like to my phone or iPad I guess though none seem very powerful. I have had a look at some of the motorcycle stuff but that looks over complicated.
Anyone had any success in this area?

If I was looking at this properly, I'd be trying to integrate some small speakers into the headrests. Space is limited so the speakers need to be small, so not powerful, so need to be close to the ears.
On long road trips we've used music/phone through an Autocom intercom with Terratrip headsets. Saves on fatigue although my ears did get very hot!

My girlfriend's MK1 MX5 had headrest speakers. But they supplemented the other speakers. On long road trips we've used music/phone through an Autocom intercom with Terratrip headsets. Saves on fatigue although my ears did get very hot!
I use in ear headphones on a long run. I can still hear what is going on around me. Still hear sirens from a long way off, long before someone listening to music in a confined shell of a car does.
I can still hear the car, but they just take the edge off the noise which helps on long trips.
Thanks everyone. I tried using in-ear headphones the other day and I'm just not keen on them. I may pop round to a motorbike shop at the weekend to see if they have anything suitable.
As I said, it's an everyday car so mostly I'm driving about town rather than bashing on at high speeds over the Cairngorms, not that I don't do that....

Aftershokz are not in ear, sound is transmitted through your bones. I' m a huge fan of them, customer service is also superb; I broke my Bluez 2 by not looking at what I was doing, they were replaced free of charge with a set of Bluez 2s.As I said, it's an everyday car so mostly I'm driving about town rather than bashing on at high speeds over the Cairngorms, not that I don't do that....

They look very funky, but I can't quite see where they make bone contact. Is it behind the ear, or in front or below?I've had speakers in my 7 since the early 70's. They are mounted in the side panels just above and forward of where your knees are. Obviously they are very shallow units but the sides of the car act as speaker cabinets, so good sound.
Not sure if you could actually do it on a modern 7 as there is the honeycomb material between the skins that may prevent it...
