I wondered if anyone has attended any of these events as a spectator. I am interested in going to see some of the old V10 era F1 cars and the FXX in action.

Also does anyone have any more information than what is on the website on what is available for the public.

Cheers

They did one at Silverstone a couple of years ago, I went as part of a PH Sunday Service. Plenty to see and do, there's the 458 challenge series as part of the action. Awesome mix of XX cars and V10/V8 F1 cars driven with very mixed levels of commitment.

And as a bonus they were letting pepole wander round the garages freely at the end of the day looking at the F1 and XX cars.

I did the PA commentary at that one. Still a high point of my commentating career, especially standing in the pit lane during a session for the XX track cars - the 599XX has to be one of the best sounding cars ever at full chat.

The two days were a mix of sessions for these cars in the hands of their owners, Ferrari F1 cars from the 2000s driven by private owners, four races for the European 458 Challenge (current BTCC driver Alex Martin won one of them) which is mainly contested by gentleman drivers, and two races for the Pirelli Ferrari Open for UK drivers (which sadly doesn't run any more). There was also a parade of Ferrari road cars during the lunch break, a demonstration of their current F1 car by Marc Gene, and off track there was a Ferrari showroom inside the Wing, race simulators and slot cars to have a go at, and lots of other promotional stuff.

If you're a Ferrari fan it's a great day out, though I don't know if they're doing a UK one this year - if they are it'll be pretty much the same as the 2014 one.

Did Ferrari racing days last year (that's the name they use for the Silverstone corse cliente thing).

It was a good weekend, made by the car park. Watching the cars being leant on is good, the 599fxx sounds great - but TBH the gent drivers pootling about in f1 cars isn't that amazing.

The public car park was pretty good, so many interesting cars on show. If they weren't there, the day would have been a bit gappy - but they are so all good.

Good info, thanks, are the events free entry for spectators?

Thinking of going to the mugello and/or hockenheim events this year.

Looking forward to hearing the V10 F1 cars again, just wouldn't bother going to an F1 race now with the horrible V6 turbos. It's all about the noise.
