Guys I know this sounds mad but I ordered my car over the phone, I have never been to the dealer and have not had or done any paperwork - the car is on its way.

I have no idea what the cost "should" be as a launch order car can anyone fine the original prices please?

If not its a GT Convertible with custom pack automatic

Cheers

Tony I make it £40,300 plus paint, are you saying the price you posted was May 2015 or my price of £40,900 is not Jan 15 ?

Edit got it

I can't believe you still don't have the car yet it just seems mad! I'm surprised you have waited patiently and not just cancelled the order!

I ordered mine in May 2015 and received on 1st December 2015. If i was you i would be jumping up and down like a mad man.

You did well. V8 convertibles seem to have had more delays than some. At the end of the day Ford always said 12 months, the car is now in the UK and should be with me for Easter, if I'd cancelled I'd never get the car and who wants a V8 vert in January anyway.smile

There are quite a few of us who ordered in Jan and are still yet to receive our cars - mine is a V8 fastback, it's not limited to any particular type it would seem. Mine is also now almost here though (in Zeebrugge currently).

As mentioned, going mad at Ford would have achieved nothing. My only leverage would have been to cancel the order. Which would have left me without the car I wanted, and Ford with a car that is still massively in demand but now with a list price that is £1500 (and as of a few days ago £2000) higher, so more profit for them. Not exactly much leverage in reality...

The delays themselves are annoying, but not the end of the world given I was expecting a 12 month wait anyway. But the lack of communication from Ford or the dealer is a different matter, they have been atrocious at keeping people informed. Even more galling is having Ford people posting on here offering cancelled orders for immediate purchase to new buyers while doing nothing for those who slapped a deposit down sight unseen 12 months before and still had no sign of a car arriving...

I'm now looking forward to being able to look out the door and see my Mustang parked on the driveway every day, and hopefully the car will make up for the ordering "process"! I driving

Indeed, will end up having avoided a few months of driving on salt-covered roads, and the tyres should actually work properly as the temperature goes up a bit too!

Also all the car tv programmes have tested the Mustang and will be aired in a few months when TG and new TG launch. I think that the car will be a spring "must have" when heavily televised as I get enough stick for the "none arriving car" now after the tv advert.
Its still surreal I have not paid a deposit, signed an order or even been to the dealer .....

In my case I always have a convertible as a second car, I now have twin children so I need a 4 seat convertible and my last one was a E500 Merc that was not "special" enough for a second car. Until the Mustang came out I was set on a Grancabrio but winced at £100k (ish) and didnt really want an old one so the Mustang is a perfect fit.
And auto because my manual days are long behind me, my last manual was a Maserati 4200 that was an automated manual it was so vicious I could make the Mrs go from thrown back to thrown forward to thrown back again from second to third so violently she lost the plot (so I did it again).
The Mustang at its price point and image are is truly unique.

Always wanted a convertible; always wanted a Mustang; always wanted a V8; always wanted a brand new car. Perfect storm. The auto fits the grand tourer use I intend. Not a daily driver.
