As the season is nearly upon us (or never stopping for the more hardy amongst us) it is time to get your campers out!
Vans/Motorhomes/volvo with a mattress in the back, whatever your poison, post it up.

Our T25 1.6td we rescued in 2014 after a 6 year hibernation in a nice damp garage in deepest Gloucester.
Cost us a fortune but couldn't be without him now.
Usually found around in Wales or Cornwall, got a few days near Stonehenge coming up, with a three week adventure around France in the planning for the summer.

We bought it last year and did a 6 week trip around France and Spain. The size was a bit intimidating for the first few days but I soon got used to it.

Spot on.....He's a 1989 Ford Mallard Sprinter. Big Block V8, sounds awesome.
We mainly use him to get away for the odd night as we have to care for my mum who's got dementia so can't really do more.
Well appointed with air con and a petrol generator plus a full size fridge freezer (well it is American) bags of power but the downside is about 12mpg. (Offset by the fact it cost less than 5k AND it's got a completely new interior)

What sort of power/weight does that work out to?
Ours... 61 T5. Pathetic 88bhp version now running 160bhp, full conversion inside (conversion companies ex-demo van so no expense spared!), sleeps 4, on coilovers and banded steel wheels. Note - dangly flower garland thing not included.

I converted a Transit a couple of years ago (thread here)
We've done lots of weekends away, long weekends and festivals in it, we're thinking of planning some week-long trips this summer.
No plans, no idea what I was doing but the internet is a great source of ideas. It's home-brew everything, including the awning (a shade sail, normally seen outside restaurants etc.) and a Frontier stove (the black thing with the chimney) for outdoor cooking which is always a talking point at campsites as well as a fridge, sink and double hob. All completely off-grid, solar charges the battery for the fridge and lighting etc. so we're not limited to campsites with hookups. We love it.

And the maps on the cabinets Couldn't afford a motorhome last year so contemplated doing a conversion but soon realised I didn't have the time and commitment so bought one instead to replace our old Mk 2 camper. Had so much fun with it last year.

Mark, that looks a great conversion. Been thinking about one for a while now, would be great for fishing trips / taking the granddaughter away for the weekend etc. That's given me some inspiration, I'm now going to work my way through your build thread! My neighbour has a RV for moving his lads motorcross bikes about,its a Ford fourwinds fun mover with a trition 6.8l v10 engine. the garage at the back is big enough for a smart car to fit in, it runs on gas and has 2x200 litre tanks plus a 208 litre fuel tank, unladen it weights in at 6.5tons.
Even after the cost of the Eurotunnel its still cheaper for him to take it to France than to fill it up here
