Sinn make a nice little range of watches for those who like to think paying through the nose for a 'boutique' brand is providing them with something special.

Not sure if you are for or against from that post.

Whilst prices gave certainly risen -circa 8 to 10 years ago they were underpriced, I think compared to many brands their prices are not bad. OK they use mostly bought in movements as the base for most of their stuff, but they have lots of innovative features in several models - Argon filling, the oil filled UX, tegimented steel and Diapal off the top of my head.

On all the watch fora I frequent, they are without question one of the best respected brands, but of course they won't appeal to everyone.

Neither for nor against, they make some lovely £300-£400 watches and flog them for a huge German premium. If Seiko charged the same for such middle of the road fare they'd be laughed out of business.

I have a U1 SDR and definitely don't think it was overpriced, the opposite in fact. What £300-£400 watch is comparable?

£1400-ish for a bog standard ETA clone in a visually challenging package?

You're right, there's nothing else out there quite like the U1.

Two months on the forum.

Congratulations, I dont think anyone else has managed to achieve quite such an agressive blend of self-opinionated overly critical downright rudeness in such a short time. Keep it up, you'll go far.

(I know, you call it as you see it. Me too. See above.)

Coming from someone that thinks Sinn can somehow charge a huge premium despite the fact that most people have never heard of them ..

What?? It's not me setting the price of Sinn's products... it's Sinn.

I don't think you even know what point you're trying to make there.

What is the fascination on this forum with length of service? Did you not exist before you signed up to Pistonheads?

Why do people troll? Its perfectly possible to post an opinion in a reasoned way without sounding like a deliberately antagonistic jerk. For every one person that reacts to a troll, ten others read the post, think something derogatory about the troll and simply get on with life.
Why would anyone deliberately make themselves out to be an aggressive idiot?
I genuinely don't understand.

Why do you say I'm trolling? Because I have an opinion contrary to yours?

The troll label is one too easy for people to throw out when they have no counter to the points made. It's more a reflection on you than me.

I called you a troll because you rudely insulted another guys watch, not because your opinion was contrary to mine. Tell us about your watches and maybe people will insult your choices (or not) but if they do, I trust you'll think that perfectly acceptable behaviour?

I don't care that your view is different, however well informed it may be. You've ignored the points I made about some of the technology employed in Sinn's watches. If you don't like them, that's fine / your loss. Plenty of happy Sinn owners do like them.

I absolutely love mine. Regardless of the origins of the movement.
Is it overpriced? I think not.

Edit: Fantastic video! Really do like their watches.

No-one said overpriced tat, you came up with that one yourself.

Are we going for the full range of poor arguments here? Ad hominem, straw-man, downright fabrication, are these the staples of a debate in here?

Edited.
Hope that helps.

My stance is that Sinn are not overpriced for what they are or I'm paying more for the 'name'...

I paid the money for it because I like the watch and had to have one. Simple

As it happens, I don't think you're a Troll - leastways not a very good one - just an ill-mannered person.
