McLaren to be sponsored by........

.....a Whiskey manufacturer!
So the Government would rather have a link between a drinks manufacturer and an F1 team than a cigarette manufacturer and an F1 team....

Smoking is not cool, but Drink and Driving is cool kids!
This sucks....

Who cares.
Actually, in 1997 Williams were sponsored by Veltsins Vodka. And don't Budweiser sponsor Toyota. Warsteiner used to sponor Arrows. Kronenburg also used to sponsor Arrows.
And who can forget the classic Martini Racing colours which appeared on Brabham, Lotus, Lancia and Porsche racing and rally cars?

what ever happened to durex sponsoring F1 ?? surely there has never been a more apt sponsor in motor racing !!
Rupert Keegan's Hesketh was sponsored by Penthouse
indeed it was. bring back the era when an f1 car with a company logo of a teddy bear in a full face helmet could win races!
i'd have thought mclaren would be better sponsored by vodka and buger brands, with their driver combination this year ;-)
ttfn
Rob Walker, who ran the team that Stirling Moss drove for between 1958 and 1962, was the heir to the Johnnie Walker fortune. It's nice to see the Walker name in F1 again. I wonder will they be painting the cars all dark blue with with a white band around the nose.
Don't forget Piers Courage, who drove in F1 in the late 60s (and was tragically killed). He was heir to the Courage brewing empire and was managed by Frank Williams. Courage also sponsored Lotus in the early 1980s.

What tosh! And what, pray, do racing driver's celebrate their victory or podium finish with?
CHAMPAGNE!
BOOZE!
Do you think this encourages "drink driving"...?
I think not.
