I'm aware this is a rather paltry some fir most here, however it's my budget and the most I'm willing to spend on a watch I'll wear everyday. This will include to work which can be rather rough.

I've found that I can get either a used Steinhart Ocean 500 or used OWC Mil-sub.

Both use the same movements, however I'm more drawn to the Steinhart having owned and loved an Ocean 1.

However, I'd be interested to know what else is out there.

I'd prefer used as it'll only get marked eventually anyway.

I'd prefer an automatic and 'sub' aesthetic but it doesn't need to be an exact replica.

Thank you for your time,

PJ S

Spend time trawling through the listed brands/models on chrono24 – you’ll find something new/pre-owned that grabs your fancy, and maybe even has you increasing the budget to £600.
I would question the logic though of wearing to work, since if it’s as “rather rough” as you say, why would you want to expose it to that sort of potentially damaging environment?
That’s what a cheap and cheerful G-Shock is for.

I've got the G-shock but just never bonded with it.

Work is only very rarely a bit rough so I'd be willing to risk it.

I wore my Ocean 1 for 2 years and never came accroper so I'd take the odds really, unless things go horribly wrong I can always get things repaired. I think it's safe to say I'm not precious.

I'll throw a used Glycine into the pot as well; mine is now my only watch.

They often appear used in and around that money.

Borealis are doing some cracking Diver watches at that price. I've got a SeaHawk that I'm delighted with.

You could also look at Armida as well. Your choice of brass or steel and a few different designs and depth ratings all within your price range:

This Hamilton is nice:

Lot's of nice Hamilton's at that price point, but this was the only "diver" model I found.

Or there's this ORIS TT1, which is a bargain, it's massively depreciated from new prices because it's the old model.

I presume you want an Automatic (i.e. mechanical) rather than Quartz?

Or you could go vintage (1990)

Or go for a Rolex Pepsi homage:

That'll be a Pelagos "homage" then.

This is a sensible choice should you find one for £400

This or the Oris would be great choices.

Yes, a cracking choice - I bought one new and it's one of my favourite watches.

I had an Ocean Black, but it's too overtly a Rolex clone for my taste (even allowing for the black finish).
