S1 or S2 Exige?

1.yes you will fit...some taller owners find it better with a removable steering wheel that can be adjusted

2. Possibly - you have to rev em to make them go...however for B road or track use then nothing thats driveable daily compares with them. If you get an early S1 then you can always drop a supercharged Honda or 1.8T audi lump in there - that will give you 300bhp in 780Kg ish

3. yes - avg 200 odd out of mine (with 230bhp)

4. S1 is a bit hardcore but not bad, S2 much better...even has aircon/heater that works...both come with trackday rubber fitted so you may want 2nd set of wheels/tyres for winter...depends on daily use though - a 20 mile blast down some B roads would be a great way of commuting...200 miles a day on motorways then its a bit boring...done both and use my Elise most days - 60K miles in 2.5years..no probs

go for it

Have you ever sat in an Elise? They're the same size.

I'm 6'4" and fit in my Elise easily and comfortably. I cannot get in an Esprit.

My old man is 6'4 and wanted an Esprit years ago but couldnt fit. Had to settle for an Excel instead.

Hi all,
I've just placed an order for an S2 Exige with performance pack, but I can't still decide on the
colour. At the moment I've got an S2 Elise in Racing
Green and black wheels and It's very nice for me but this colour it's a bit out of charachter for the Exige
I'm afraid. Taking it under the heritage aspect may
be black or yellow, the first a bit monotone with the
interior, the last a bit garish perhaps.
My dealer is pushing for Silver, but I've already
owned an S1 exige so if anyone of you had a picture
of a green car it could help perhaps.
Thanks in advance
Roberto

Have a look on the Lotus website here

www.grouplotus.com/car/car_coloursel.php?id=2

There is a colour chooser so you can see what each colour looks like on the Exige.

My money would have to go on the Chrome Orange.

Agreed. I do love the green but unless I found a nearly new one at a very, very attractive price I think I would go for Chrome Orange followed by the yellow (which doesnt cost any extra but is just as eye catching)

Hi guys,
Thanks for your help, probably I'll stick with the
green painting the front air intake in yellow, or
for the saffron yellow like second choice
Cheers

That green with the front air intake yellow sounds great. Just like the vintage race cars.
I have seen the silver and grey exiges along side mine and i must say the dealer prefered mine and i do too. Like someone has said already. if the car is silly it should have a silly colour.
The dark colours looked good on the s1 exige but i think the s2 should stand out a bit more. The krypton green is great along with the orange but i dont have the nerve to drive around that bright. My yellow is still fairly subtle but loud enough to make people move over and also point and mouth WOW as i cruise by.

I love it.....

FWIW I think the Exige looks damn fine in many colours other cars simply don't. Wilsons have one in OEW and I'd have it in a heartbeat if I had the cash (and I HATE white cars). With the black wheels, black spoiler and the detailing it looks stunning.

On the yellow/green topic, one thing I saw on one of the stelvio run pics from 2004 (Graham Walsh's website) recently was a fantastic looking nosejob with a yellow viper stripe running the full length of the car including inside. Don't know who's car it was but it looks fantastic...

Sorry I dont like that at all. It makes the car look like a particularly stupid fish with a big mouth!

I have seen a yellow Exige S2 with a black stripe doen the middle which looked good. Orange with black would look good also.
