2001 Mitsubishi Pajero SWB

Thought I'd share a little about our recently acquired Pajero, affectionately called, 'Betsy'. Its a 2001 GLS with 249000 kms (About 155k Miles to you) We got it two months ago and so far so good. We live in Kuwait to for the past 15 years it been subjected to 50c heat and terrain akin to the outback but it seems to have held up pretty well. I would argue that 150k miles here is equivalent to nearer 300k in the UK.
There are of course a few issues with it, some of which i have already sorted, others are 'being sorted'.
-There is an oil leak/leaks. I am keeping an eye on the loss but I have had to top up maybe 400ml in the past 3000 kms, I'm not sure if that's a terrible amount or not but when we have some free time I'll pop into Mitsubishi for them to sort out
-Front fog lights do not work, I have traced the wire from the switch through the bulk head where it goes to the battery with an inline fuse and to the headlights, earthed to the fuse box. The fuse had melted (30a) in its holder and the earth wire is frayed and broken off. Im not keen on wiring but will try and replace when I found and see what happens.
- Had awful thumping through the cabin until recently, basically every sharp bump would thud through the cabin, I was fairly convinced it was suspension until I looked further and discovered it was in fact the lower console, took it all apart and cleaned up, put back together and 90% better!
-AC (thankfully) blows ice cold but there is quite an obvious rattle when in operation, according to the internet this is likely the bearing in compressor wheel. - Will get this sorted quickly before further damage is done
-CD Player was supposedly not working, I fabricated a CD Cleaner disc using cotton wool and, prix stick (oo err) and an old CD, much to my delight th cotton wool came out brown with dust and the CD blared into life!
Other than that, its pretty good, it was one of the cheapest cars for sale at the time so ows us very little, if it lasts us longer than 4 months then I will be delighted! My wife is enjoying the seat height and its very capable in the daily urban off roading we do.
It has suspension/bouncy seats, never experienced them before, only seen them in trucks, fortunately you are able to firm them up as before I was bouncing three times to the cars one bounce! Do all Pajeros have these? Do other cars have these?
Fortunately Mitsubishi's are cheap to maintain here and fuel is cheap which is a good thing especially is we are only getting about 350kms from a full tank!
