Where to eat close to the M1 Notts area?

Hello Midlanders , I'm coming down from up Norf to meet a mate/customer who is coming up from darn Saarf to pick up some rather large engine bits from him, have a bit of a chat and some lunch, anywhere you would recommend?
We reckoned close to J24a, 25 or 26 would be ok and are just looking for somewhere reasonable, something like a pub chain or slightly better (somewhere in between A La Carte and Maccy Ds!).

Somewhere like The Otter seems ideal for your requirements. It's part of the Vintage Inn pub chain which I find more acceptable than most pub chains.
Off at J24 and through Kegworth then just down the A6. Be careful of the speed camera when going into Kegworth again.

An alternative is to come down during a test day at Donington and walk around the track for an hour munching sandwiches.

Neither of us are strangers to Donny (he races, I build the engines and watch) so not much to be had there for us on a cold Winters day, but that pub looks ok thanks. Google maps must have picked up on what I was looking for as it's thrown up The Cottage and The Anchor close by too.

Old Bulls Head in Woodhouse Eaves is rather nice. But you'd have to come down to J23.

I live in Woodhouse Eaves and while the Bulls Head is a fine pub and will meet your requirements, if you are heading this way I would also recommend The Wheatsheaf.

However closer to Jn 24 / Donington Park is The Plough in Diseworth which is also worth a visit.
