Does anyone know of any good independant body shops that could apply some TLC to my 355 - got caught out in the wet today. I am in hertfordshire.

Not that close but I have used 4U cars in Windsor. They repaired and resprayed the bumber on my 348 and did a great job, their number is 01753 867730 and they also do a lot of work for Maranello's if they are busy

My personal recomendation would be Panel Craft Elite. They're based in kent just the other side of the tunnel. They have been repairing/painting ferraris for 15 years from local to concours peparation. Speak to Shawn on 01634 409911 he will even collect and deliver.

Remember to note your mileage.

I've heard lots of stories of people leaving their sports cars for body repairs and the staff/owners giving them a good thrashing.

In fact I know someone who was doing doughnuts in a clients F355. Also had a friend of a cousin who has a bodyshop bring round an SL55 and thrash the crap out of it.

Then theres the story of the bodyshop that took out a clients Lambo (Diablo i think) for fun and managed to destry 1 wheel.

Maybe tell them you have a tracker and that for security you've told the tracking company where the car will be and if it's moved more than a 30 feet the tracker will be activated?

Thanks for the advice. It's now booked into Verdi's. I don't think his reputation with Ferraris can be disputed and he also seems a really nice guy to boot.

Do Verdis have their own bodyshop, or do they just sub it out - hence leading the possibly the same problems and a mark up to boot?

Either way I feel confident giving it to Karl. So far he has been very genuiine and helpful (taking calls on his mobile on Sunday when I was looking at cars and after advice etc) I can't see him tarring his reputation by offering sub standard paint jobs
