Takes an age to heat up...

Does your 997.2 take an age for the oil to come up to temp?

Feels like I have to drive it for 20-25 mins for the needle to move!

My E92 M3 warmed up far more quickly...

9-odd litres of oil does take a while to get warm, my 997.2 was exactly the same. Painful when all you want to do is pop out for a hoon!

My 997.2 earlier today took c.8 > 10mins to reach 90 degrees C...about the same as my 2015 Golf GTD in this weather.

For the Oil to get to that temp in 10 mins is very quick...

If driving from starting it then mine takes less than 10 mins for the oil guage to reach 90, sat idling it would take well over 20 mins.

When I first got my 997.2 I genuinely thought the needle was stuck. It takes even longer if the car has been sitting a week odd in a cold garage.

Normal behaviour I think you'll find, confirmed via OPC and the poster above!

15 and more likely 20 minutes of normal driving (out of traffic, where I live) before the OIL gets to 85-90 degrees. Coolant gets up much quicker, but that's not what its all about is it?
AND mine has the 'clever' cooling system.....

I've got a feeling it's because I left it in the garage for a few days - will drive each day over the next couple of days and report back! I need 10 mins warm up !!!

Ha, you're right...I reread and was considering coolant temp, rather than oil temp! Duh!

So to adjust answer, 20mins of normal driving I reckon.
