I`d nominate the sixties. Why?E type,911,DB5,Maserati Ghibli,Lotus Elan, any number of Ferrari GT cars, the list of beautiful cars is endless. There was a combination of form and function, uncluttered lines and timelessness in the designs which I don`t think has been repeated in any other decade.By contrast, just look how badly some designs of the 70s,80 and even the 90s have fared with time.
What do you think?

One thing that infuriates me about a lot new car designs is the designers seem to forget that in 99% of the western world you must display a front numberplate Look at the new Ferarri Enzo, where are you going to stick a 12"x4" piece of plastic! Or a Jag XK, Jag design a stylish 'face' but then it hides behind the plate Most TVR's have the plate blocking any cooling air flow, Lotus Exige, the plate always looks like it was an afterthought, I could go on, come on car designers, stop faffing about damping cup holder mechs and think about things

IMHO the Alfa 33.2 Coupe Stradale is every bit as good looking as that 330 P4.

I agree that the 1960's were a brilliant for car design, everything was so sleek. Probably were so good looking because they didn't have to consider the safety and aerodynamic aspects which are vertually mandatory to compete sales wise these days, which is a shame.

P4, beautifull certainly

But I prefer the brutish good looks of the GT40

Best decade, 60s a close second behind the forties

Alfa 6C 2500 SS Pininfarinia, fantastic

Know an owner of one. Next time it's at a meet and I'm around I'll get some shots and some onboard footage.

There is a fairly good replica kitcar of the P4. I think Lee Noble had something to do with it.
