I get the feeling that with the e30 M3 the point is that you won't need to slow down much as it handles so well.
It should handle a lot better than my 320 and it can carry a fair speed round bends. It should be pretty good fun as well.
I'd certainly have one (but I wouldn't get rid of the Tiv for one )

Absolutely bang on, the e30 m3 is all about handling, feel and balance. Speed wise they are still pretty good, but won't blow stuff away in a stratight line. You need to carry speed in and out of the corners, then you can embarass lots of hot shoes in their swanky motors. I have still never driven a car that steers as well as my E30 M3, and just feels so damm good. Fab cars and really built to last, they will take a whole days abuse at the track and drive home as though they have done nothing.

I'm with you there I just did a 400 mile trip in my M3 and frankly just wanted to keep going, I have had my car for over three years now and it feels as exciting now as it did when I bought it. Very little could keep up with a well driven E30 M3 on a b road!

About 8 grand should get you a good one.

I have driven a few of these,,as recently as last saturday on track and came close to buying on several occasions, but somehow opted for other better (?) cars.
The handling is great, but I think you have to spend a lot of money to get one to really GO!
The E30 is a great way to get confidence with a rwd car, but I get the impression it would not take too long before you could do everythng it had to offer and then you have to move on to greater challenges in the art of driving.

Like clubsport I was driving (the same) one on track at the wk/end. An excellent non evo example, with lots of dosh spent to make it totally sorted too, so an excellent example of the breed.
Now i'd driven an ok example on road (*) click here for the tread & was just not impressed & the on track experience just backed that up.

I absolutly love the shape & look of E30 M3s & yes way more fun & involving than the inert E46M3SMG I also drove on track, but for me I just feel a 944 in S2 or Turbo forms (with Koni suspersion) is superior, cheaper & RHD, while a 968CS at a similar cost is quite consderably a better car in all but (purely my subjective view) looks.
