Oh , love this car, especially the rear end. Great colour too, currently for sale in the classifieds.

I'd prefer mine in Black with some decent wheels

wedge wedge wedge wedge wedge....

Colour's not great though. It would look better in black, but I still wouldn't have one. A bit ugly IMHO.

I prefer the Mustang GTR

Are those land-rover doorhandles

Very tidy looking car, and unusual too.

Some of the later Pantera's with flared wheel arches, wing and skirts looks much nicer IMHO.

Fantastic cars, although personally I think it looks better with the bumper on.
The only car I have ever driven that could do a hill start with the engine idling, very underrated car.

More than a hit of Lambo about that pantera ... something between an early countach and a late miura.

Or do I need my eyes checking (again!)?

Lightningghost...

Prescription go wrong at the opticians, mate? A classic non-bewinged Pantera is ugly, but the overstyled 'face like a bulldog licking pi$$ off a nettle' yank-tank pony car isn't... Hmmmmm... Beauty is in the eye... and all that ;-)

How odd: I was thinking that very thing when I read your post

For comparison:

LightningGhost: How can you compare two cars that are thirty years old, to a modernday production car clone which is not even an original? I too like the new Mustang, don't get me wrong, but it has as much character appeal as a Suzuki jeep when compared to the Pantera, especially a GT5 model IMO. The wheels on the Pantera are the original alloys and originality is what gives the car the value. If you stuck a set of blings on it not only would it not suit the original design of the car, but you would also take a huge chunk or value off the car. These cars are timeless classics of thoroughbred Italian design and will continue to hold their money way into the forseeable future. Wedge? Definately, but that was part of the super-car shape in those days.

Was walking down Bond St in London last yr when I felt the ground shake: black GT5S idling past with a noise like a top-fuel dragster in pre-stage. Reminded me of going to the owner's club days at Castle Coombe with my Dad when I was a kid.

The concept is good, italian styling (big wing needed)
with a simple reliable yank V8.

Is it just me thinking it looks like a cheap copy of a Lamborghini Espada?

Must be just you! Espadas were front engined four seaters were as a Pantera is a mid engined 2 seater, put them side by side and the proportions will be entirley different.

Agreed. Looks nothing like an Espada...

The Pantera is lovely....

I even like the colour...

And you are right, that thing Lightninghost posted, now that IS ugly....
