I'm looking to get my car key and alarm fob push button thinge made into one.

I am told that you can get a key made up with the alarm button on like on a modern car. Can anyone tell me where?

I heard a rumour from one of the guy's at Hawthorns that there is a "little old man" (no, really) who will take your key and your existing Meta key fob and build the key into the fob.

This is backed up by the fact that a colleague has a Meta alarm for his bike which is a single key which is identical to my plipper apart from the fact that his is a key and mine a plipper. There is even a small blanking plate on my plipper that corresponds to where his key protrudes from.

So I guess it must be possible then. Might even be possible to do it oneself with a Dremmel, some araldite and a bit of bravery and skill!

I have a Piranah alarm.

And the reason I am keen to get the two built into one is because I want to get rid of the Cavalier key.

Thanks for your suggestion though.

Jon,

Any chance you can chase up this "little old man's" details?

I too have seen the meta-fob-and-key in one thing - on bikes and cars (Tuscans, for example). Would be nice to have something a bit more convenient and a bit less Opel.

I'll see what I can do. Not sure when I'll be popping into Hawthorns next though.
