Knobhead dents my 996 C4. What to do?

Some great knobhead dented my 996 C4 when parked at the side of the road and drove off. So I have a dented and scratched nearside rear plastic bumper and a dented and scratched nearside rear wing above the wheel arch. I can claim on my insurance for the repair, with consequent potential damage to my premium, or pay for it myself.
If the latter do I need a full rear bumper replacement or can the damage by repaired by Dent Magician/Chips Away-type people? And can they do the nearside rear wing metalwork repair as well?
I've attached a few photos and ask you to look at them and see what you think please. All advice will be most gratefully received.

Or you could leave it and challenge the careless bar stewards to go elsewhere ?
I did that with the door of my car --- by the time I sold it 'd accumulated also a windscreen chip that wasn't an MOT fail, paint peened off the sills and a few other tiny indiscretions that were all easily sorted for the new owner.
The most important thing was that I parked wherever was sensible and never worried ...
Maybe all new cars should delivered with a removable scratch transfer ?

I'm trying to work out if the light scratches are above and to the right of the dents, and how they happened at the same time?If the latter do I need a full rear bumper replacement or can the damage by repaired by Dent Magician/Chips Away-type people? I had similar damage to my F10 M5 at my best mates funeral last year.
Personally I wouldn't touch smart repair with a long stick. I had two doors fixed and sprayed etc. On my M5 and the cost was £1100 inc. VAT but it's back to factory.
I've had experience of smart repair on a 996 I owned some years ago which ended in the crowd next to Porsche Reading respraying the front of the car.....never again.

You may have been lucky there, it certainly looks a good repair from the picture. However in my experience Smart repairs are either very noticeable at the time of repair or look shoddy soon after. OP , especially since your car is silver, I would just have it done properly and forget about it whilst hoping Karma has its day on the guy who drove off

Not lucky, a good smart repairer. It took about 3 hours and cost me £240.
PDR is as far as I'd want to go with a smart repair. I certainly don't want someone painting my car by the side of the road. In all the similar repairs I've seen, the finish has quite quickly deteriorated and has certainly been very obvious.
If It was me I'd take it to a trusted paint shop where they'd remove the bumper cover, repair and fully paint. That wouldn't cost very much more (if any more), than the £240 smart repair.
Can't see exactly what's going on with your NS rear arch but personally I'd get it done properly.

select your repairer with care, personally I would want that sorting in a bodyshop, smart repairers tend to use faster drying products, ie aerosol primers and fast drying clear coats as they are force drying as repairs tend to be done on site , which once the job is done and polished up will look ok but fast forward a few weeks and repair will sink. also depending on how close the damage is to the edge of the quarter panel you would be wise to blow the colour into the door , lighter metallic colours are likely to suffer from the looking darker painted edge to edge even if there is no basecoat on the panel , additional coats of clear onto a panel can throw the colour a mile.

te a couple of years later. Mine looked perfect initially but I later wished I had done a proper job in the first place. Hope yours fares better.Like any sort of service, there are good and bad providers. I try to find the good ones, if possible the same ones that local franchised dealers use.
