As it was a bit drier and milder yesterday took the merc out for a spin for the first time since moving. Even had the roof down!!

Seemed a few others had the same idea, saw a lovely white R8, green FRS, stunning 458, scoob WR1 (always liked those), quick white GTR, to name but a few.

Great fun, but always a bit lonely by yourself. Is there anywhere that locals round here head for on a nice day to park up, drink coffee, chat cars??

(Ace Cafe always provided like-minded individuals when I was down south. But that's a bit far now!!).

Most of the cars you spotted are from my work =/ and probably just returning home from shift, have yet to ask the r8 and 458 driver if they are pistonhead members, never see them except the largs- stevenston area.

Ayrshire myself, not been out for a hoon for a long time as I only have the freelander on the road just now as the weather is just mince!

I like the odd run to largs on a summers day, or Dunure can be a nice stop off spot.

I'm in South Ayrshire. Don't think there is many of us around here to be honest, majority are central belt and Aberdeen.

Go to the odd meet work depending and try to keep using the cars over the winter period. Work has slowed right down now so hope to get to more meets in the future.smile

Tell me about it! having to travel to find the work, we are busy in the Congo, just got back last week, and soon off to Uruguay. Survived the first of the redundancys, don't think that will be the last round if oil keeps going south.

Fellow Merc owner from central belt. Would be up for meeting with fellow petrolheads from centralbelt/ayrshire! Cheers

Passed a lovely 930 on Sunday. Then followed it all the way home.

Was it yellow?

Seen one a few times on the Ayr-Turnberry coast road, looked lovely and was having a much nicer time than me in my Yaris.

Looks like we should be able to arrange a decent get together when the weather gets a bit nicer.
