Creventic 24 Hour Series- New Races Announced
Discussion
Creventic run the FIA 24 hour series.
Currently they race at Dubai (24 hour), Mugello (12), Zandvoort (12), Paul Ricard (24), Barcelona (24) and Brno (12).
Late in 2015 they announced the Silverstone (24 hour) race for touring cars only.
Yesterday they announced two further races for touring cars at Slovakiaring (24) and Germany (12).
All races are designed for clubman drivers. Even though you get GT3 SLS's and R8 LMS's at Dubai etc there are still spaces for the other end of the scale. Clio's, Mini's, Integra's and Civics all compete.
All races are covered by Radio Le Mans and Motors TV broadcast them live.
Does anyone else race in or follow the championship??

I looked at quite a bit of the Dubai race. A bit hard to follow, not helped by Motors TV's low definition feed. Interested in the Silverstone round but not sure what will be there and how different it will be to Dubai. Also its the same weekend as BTCC in Brands, so Brands may win out, especially now that Subaru are in.
Creventic really, really know how to organise a race and are an absolute pleasure to race with. We have just finished the Dubai 24hr race (dropped a valve just before the 20hr mark). We had access to:
Luckily we sustained no damage to our car, which is most certainly the exception to the rule after this years race.
- Live timing (2 different sets of data)
- Live GPS tracking
- Excellent Radio LeMans commentary (with upto 2 pitlane reporters)
- Live tv feed on the pitwall and garages
- Refueling is done in a specific area so you don't need expensive dry break quick dump bottles
- Option to rent tents in the paddock area for catering etc
- Time for walking the track, driving your road car around the track and the option to drive sponsors round the track in your race car

The standards of driving where not a particularly good advert, and I wonder if the success has caused the problems. 100 cars of such mixed speed and ability is a recipe for damage; easy to say with hindsight!
Anyway, the only info released so far is here:

Nurburgring 24's going the same way too. Mind you, SPA24 proves that too many GT3's among GT3's is carnage.Creventic have certainly upped their game over the last 5 years
The touring car/amateur driver where there bread and butter for a number of years, but things move on. And in this case they certainly have
I just hope by trying to split the series things don't change. It wont be long before the A2 class either dies a natural death or is removed from the Dubai race, and potentially Paul Ricard and Barcelona
I have competed in 8 24hr races and this year in Dubai was by far the worst in terms of abilities and sheer numbers of faster cars.
We are a small team of freinds who do these races as a hobby, and without any sponsorship. The touring car series will hopefully be a step back to how it used to be
From Creventic:
New touring car races added to the calendar
Building on the success of the inaugural Hankook 24H SILVERSTONE – European Touring Car Edition, two further endurance races for touring cars will be added to the calendar of the 2016 24H SERIES powered by Hankook. On June 15-16, the Slovakia Ring near Bratislava will serve as the venue for the inaugural Hankook 24H SLOVAKIA, the first-ever race of the 24H SERIES to be held on weekdays only (Wednesday and Thursday). Later in the season, a touring car race in Germany will be held as well, with venue and date yet to be announced. “With Silverstone, Slovakia Ring and the German event, we plan to create an International Endurance Series for touring cars, for which we hope to get an official FIA International Series status as well. The goal is to keep these events low-key, easy and affordable, so it really is back to our roots. We are working hard for these events and we will provide more information soon,” Natasha Mark says.
