Just for future info, non-members can still register on the L7C site, and by doing so will be able to send messages to any users either via the button that will appear on their posts or by clicking their user profile.

That's useful to know, thanks!

Thanks everyone
Stephen has made contact, looks like the tonneau may fit my car.

I have tried to register but failed, thought the website had changed and you needed to be a L7 Club member now.

No, you don't need to be a member to register, but you need to then enter your membership info into your profile to access the Members Only parts and post on the Forum.
Registered non-members can use the blatmail feature.

Tried to find this as a friend of mine is interested in Hoper179's wheels for sale, but can't find the place to register.

Can you point a dumbo (aka me) in the right direction?

Cheers
Bert

The anticipation of L7C registering (as a non-member) and the actual experience is akin to the anticipation of receiving a wrapped christmas gift, opening it, only to learn it is a pair of socks.

And as an aside, I am now the successful new owner of a set of 4 Caterham wheels and tyres. All I need now is a Caterham! Well actually i bought them for a friend who is putting an ex-palmersport car back on the road.

Bert
PS by successful I was referring to the act of purchasing not my own personal life success. But you shouldn't take that to mean I'm not successful in life I am. My significant build, goatee and company directorships all attest to that biggrin
PPS thanks to Helluvaname for pointing out I could get on to blatchat for pm purposes!

Bert²,

I believe blatmail still works through 213-04 as well, provided a post by the intended recipient can be located there. I briefly searched for a post by you to test it, but couldn't locate one in under 90 seconds, so gave up. smile

er, dunno what 213-04 is. Feeling a bit stoopid!
Well apart from being an IBM Tivoli abend code, allegedly

As a L7 club member I am at a loss to understand why the site is so locked down its so backwards compared to an open internet or in the spirit of net neutrality

It was the alternate URL for Blatchat, and is still live, albeit for searching only. Just type 213-04 dot com as the URL and you can still access it and use the search function as before in Blatchat, even though most everything else has been disabled.
