Lead Times - From Factory to Dealership

My mustang was built 20th of November. As of 12th Jan its still somewhere in the US.

Being told it will be delivered March / April time.

Is this normal - 4/5 months delivery post build.

Who knows? There seems absolutely no structure at all to this.

I'm in the same boat as you, car built (allegedly), but sat at US docks since before Xmas and nobody from Ford appears to have a clue when it might arrive in the UK.

Sounds like a ridiculously long wait?

According to my Window Sticker (just came live), mine is being built.... TODAY

ETA to dealer is late March - sincerely hope this is the case. Hope you get the car soon bennno.

Have you contacted Ford direct about it (Karen/Andy etc.)

Coincidence? Just got an email from my dealer:-

"The system has updated today - your car has arrived in Zeebrugge and is now waiting to be transferred across. The delivery date has changed to 13th Feb (fingers crossed!)"

And that was from a November build car, but sorry don't have the exact build date to hand as I'm away. That's circa 3 months from factory to dealer if it doesn't change again.

Hi,mine is in Zeebrugge too and Ive been told I'll get it before the end of the month!!

this may or may not help you guys, but I've factory ordered from the states 3 times through the military car service on US military bases here in the UK and, from the build date, it's typically delivered to the UK within six weeks and then the dealer obviously has to do things like registration etc.

Is that LHD though?

yeah, they were LHD vehicles; however, we're talking from the build date. it might take longer to GET a build date with a RHD, but from the time it LEAVES the factory, those are the times that applied to my orders.
