Best bargain achieved?

Was looking at watches for the wife over Christmas and eventually stumbled upon a Blancpain Ultraplate:
Dealer in Harrods offered £150 off and an extra strap, walked away. Boutique store on Bond Street had the boxed version that comes with 4 extra straps in various colours and offered a couple of hundred off, walked away. I did some internet searching over the holiday and found it for about £8,500 - £9,000 but was dubious about some of the online dealers and grey imports so decided to wait until the New Year as I have a trip planned to Switzerland and thought that might work out cheaper.
Was out at lunch on Thursday in Canary Wharf and popped into a local well known watch store and noticed they had the same model. Sales guy asked if he could help and I said I was just browsing, he then mentioned they currently had 20% off that brand......Now I was interested. Worked out that the sale price was now around £8,800 against a list of £11,050, said I would give him £7,500 for it. He went off and made a phone call and came back, deal done. I realise there is a huge markup on this stuff but I was very happy with the deal.
Anyone else managed to get a good deal?
