Kitchen outside drain blocked and after spending the day trying to sort and purchasing karcher drain kit, failed. So pissed off, so cut losses and get someone else to do it.

Anyone got any company recommendations and expected price?

mike,

before you call someone out go to your local hardware store and get a litre of "One Shot" or similar, and some rods. £30 should cover it. follow the instructions on the bottle and save a fortune. i have used this on numerous call outs to commercial kitchens and it works.

Ok cheers mate, yeah saw the One Shot stuff listed on a few sites, but many seem unwilling to ship, so will take a wander over to B&Q. Appears to be seriously nasty stuff.

Drain is the outside drain from the dishwasher and all that, we've always tried not to throw stuff down there, but don't know what the previous house owners did.

I put a bottle of 'Melt' down my blocked sink waste and it cleared everything but watch out as it smokes, stinks and you dont want to get any of it on you or anything else really smile

HPS sell it with Fareham probably being the closest to you:

If you have any Good plumbing suppliers near you like "Graham's" they will sell you drain / sink unblocker solutions.....But, You must take great care in using these, Gloves and Goggles should be used, it will strip the chrome from fittings so you will need a tube and funnel to make sure it does not come into contact with metal. Also it will react if you have recently poured Bleach into the pipework and may explode back towards you! So be Very, Very careful when using industrial fluids wink

Cheers for the info, when the stuff arrives I'll certainly be taking the slow, carefully, steady approach

Still wonder how much damage this stuff does to outside pipe work

Its corrosive and will eat through fat and hair and food waste but will not harm solvent welded pipes or rubber seals. But as I sad, be very careful with the stuff. It won't be like the rubbish you buy in a Supermarket!
