Minimal elegant watch for the wife

I'd like to get Mrs 2CV a nice watch for our first wedding anniversary in May. We have discussed it in the past, and she's gathered some ideas in pinterest (it's the language she speaks!). She's quite a fan of Junghans Max Bill, Stowa Antea, Braitwait and so on. e.g. Junghans Max Bill Chronometer:

Has she seen the Max Bill in the metal? It's a fairly big watch.

I recently bought my wife a JLC Reverso- many brownie points.
Nomos was my other option.

I did recommend Nomos before but she didn't seem keen. Couldn't really assert why! I think she quite fancies a bigger watch. Might be an idea if she tries a junghans on first. Only issue is dealers are quite few and far between.

Junghans do a smaller size as well around 35mm but not sure in what style. I noticed that John Lewis in Oxford Street stock them so may be worth a call to any JL close to you to see if they have them. I think I have also seen them in one of the chains..maybe Goldsmiths.

I have a simliar problem. My wife likes 'understated' watches (as do I), but she's even said 'no' to a Patek Philippe Ellipse - and I can't think of much that's at the level of quality and is any more understated.

Any ideas gratefully received!

i've determined she wears a 38mm at the mo and is happy with the idea of a 40mm.
