MCS 2005 - Door Mirrors rattle

Hi. Once again I am seeking advice from the MINI Yodas. My MCS is best described as rattling a bit over most road surfaces where I live in Kent. One of the culprits are both wing/door mirrors. Both seem to be loose at the pivot point - so not at the junction with the car door (which is solid) but at the point where I turn the mirrors in (or out).

Has anyone managed to access this pivot to tighten it? How is it accessed (mirror cover off or mirror off car)? Please Yodas - I seek knowledge.

Are you sure it not just the mirror covers? Mine rattle like mad... If it is they are easy to remove - how difficult to fix I have yet to discover!

No not the covers unfortunately, definately the pivot
