Hi Chaps

Just wondering if many lotus drivers turn up at this monthly event or not? I have seen from recent threads that Wendy usually joins in, but are there any others or shall just 2 people fly the flag for lotus this month...!!

I have heard that the Northeast Club Lotus meeting is generally old school cars, Elans, Eclats, Elites etc, so a young lad in his Elise (see loud!) might upset the crowd.

oh and what time at Shafto's?

Cheers

Wako

The gauntlet is down. Come on TVR drivers; let's show the Lotus mob who's best.

Its traditional that the 'new boys' get there first and get all the beers lined up on the bar.....

Suggest you arrive no later than 5pm to ensure you are the first one there

Nope, Wednesday 23rd. There were requests made last year to alternate the days because some folk found it difficult to make it on Thursdays

Thanks Bob for clarifying that. Was a bit confused when I read title. Might be able to make one at last

The TVR owners lose straight away - None of them(in this forum, at least) have a "Top Gun" moniker.

Have a look at the list of Piston-headers that have chosen "Maverick", "Slider", "Jester", "Goose", "Iceman", "Viper", "Ghostrider", "Hollywood", "Merlin" - and then think about the number of times that they say that they "pilot the Tivver" like they are fighter pilots - all quite sad, really.

Anyway - I'm off out on a call to do a taxi run to the airport in the C43.

Like the Lotus, though - How do you relate the reliabilty? Do you know of any upgrades (sensible) to the engine to take it substantually above Bomb's 350bhp? (mind you - I saw a Kia Pride on a space-saver leave him for dead on the M1)

I may not be able to make Shafto's on the 23rd as I'm on emergency call-out that week. I'll be ready to leap to the aid of any numpty who's had toothache for three weeks but reckons 10.30pm is a good time to try to get it sorted out.

23rd is good for me, can't do the 24th as working that night.

Should have a working car again by then, as well.

I use working in the loosest possible sense, but wheels now done, new set of Yokohamas arriving tomorrow; not quite the full resto I'd planned for the winter, but I have lots of new furniture instead.

Don't forget to switch your roof-top sign on !
And get a decent tip.......I can't stand people who dont 'flash the cash' to taxi drivers. After all, thats how you 'top up' your wages..... (isn't it ?? )

ok, so looks like I will probably be unique being the only Elise owner, but who cares!

Look forward to meeting you all there

It was when I did it.... 15 years or more back. Nine quid a night plus tips.... I gave it up to hump corpses for the Co-op...

Was hoping to make this but maybe not as Julie and I are off to Dublin on the 24th.

However March meet should be OK, and I MAY EVEN BRING MY LOTUS...
