Mustang order number

I want to track the progress of my car, so I asked my Dealer for the order number, my Dealer emailed me and said "our order number is M0552" (as in his order number).

Does the Dealer have a different order number to me, or is that my number, and does the above order number look like a typical order number,

Have people on here used Cotus successfully to track before - it doesn't work for me using the above number - any tips ?

I got issued an order number from Ford USA (Karen Bhatt, whose email address is in here somewhere). I don't have the paperwork to hand but it was something like #0124.

To be honest the order number seems to bear no resemblance to your place in the queue so I wouldn't put too much importance on it.

If you read this thread then Ford UK have set up a UK help desk which maybe able to help you track the car. I've never heard of Cortus so can't comment on that.

What date did you order?
My order went in on the 21st December and my number is 0368. No idea what it means. I just wanted to know my order was real and not say on someone's desk still!

I ordered it on 17th December, I'd previously had an RS Focus on order for 3 months but changed my mind....

Did you have a letter in front of those numbers, or just 4 numbers ? my Dealer said the only number he had was the one I mentioned above. He checked yesterday and it's on Ford's system, so that's good news but like everyone, I'm already impatient.

COTUS is a Ford system for tracking orders but I think it only works in the US, certainly my VIN doesn't work in it. Best thing is to get a screen-print of the VISTA page of your order from your dealer then you can send it to Stacey at [e-mail] and she can update you on the status.

You can't track anything via order/vin/dealer/etc. Once you have your vin all you can do with it is pull up your window sticker & access etis to see your cars spec/features.
You can email [e-mail] now for more information, think they set it up to take he heat off Karen.

If the car is being shipped by WWL you can track it from Baltimore using the VIN once it's in their system.

How soon after shipping would you expect the cargo to be visible, was advised that my car would be on a boat that left yesterday or day before but vin is not bringing anything up as yet?

The entries appear to start with 'received at terminal' so that looks like when you first see it. The last WWL boat to leave looks like 4th Jan. If someone is telling you it's on a boat then they should be able to give you the name of the boat.

its on the Tonsberg, the link you posted doesn't identify any mustangs or ford vehicles based on wildcard searches and vin numbers

It does when I do it e.g. 1FAT in the cargo id box (the far right hand box) brings up a long list.
