Recommend me cheap(ish) watch tools from Amazon
Discussion
Hello,
As per recent thread, I've aquired a Hamilton Field Mechanical with ETA 2082-2 movement.
Whilst I am not a skilled watchmaker/repairer I do have good manual dexterity and like a challenge.
I would like to regulate this watch to see if I can get it to within COSC specs. I appreciate that this means opening 'er up but I am prepaired to take this risk armed with a steady hand, patience and some youtube videos.
I think I would just need a watch crap (back opening tool) and some screwdrivers/pushers. Would I need a mini vice or some method to hold it still?
Can somebody please recommend some tools from Amazon (I have some gift vouchers to use up).
Many thanks,

I'm also interested in this. I have a collection of watches (all worth virtually zero) that are in need of various maintenance/repair tasks. Mostly I will just be limited to changing batteries, replacing straps and adding/removing links. The kits I have seen online however, will only open case backs up to 34mm but I have a few watches which are 40/42mm cases so I assume they won't be any good.

Do https://m.cousinsuk.com not have what you need?
Did you not read the bit where the OP said he had some Amazon vouchers to spend...?pistonheadforum said:

Don't buy cheap tools, especially not cheap screwdrivers.
AF or event better, Bergeon.
Amazon don't have the greatest range though.

The Bergeon springbar tools are invaluable for changing straps or removing bracelets. The 6767-S is for straps & the 6767-F for bracelets.
In terms of case-back removal, you shouldn't need a vice - On the rare occasion I've opened up a watch, I've just put in face down, on a lint free cloth. Just to point out that without using new gaskets, you might well compromise the water resistance.
