The opportunity has arisen to buy one of these at what seems to be a good price, from a friend of a work colleague.
I've always lusted after a 111 but they've always been over what I am comfortable spending without selling anything else, which I don't want to do.
I tried it on my wrist and loved it, but experience tells me that the feeling can be short lived. I'm also lead to believe that they can be difficult to move on as nobody wants the white dial.
We're talking about £3k in good condition with all papers etc so it's hard to say no. I think I need talking into it and for someone to say I'll be able to sell it in 3 months if I don't like it like I think I will.

I'd have thought a 111 would be around the £3k mark used if you buy from the US?
There's a new one here for £4k http://www.jomashop.com/panerai-luminor-mens-watch...

I've got a really nice 00111 for sale on e-bay at the moment it's only been on for about an hour and I've had 5 enquiries. Is the 2007 00111 manual collectable? I've never worn it in the three years I've owned it.
Here is the e-bay number 291650318669
