40 cm deep water - caused problem on immobiliser?
Discussion
went through some deepish water on boxing day night - about 40cm deep at the maximum. Car was fine yesterday, started fine today then failed to start - completely - later on.
It's been taken away and should be at the garage tomorrow, the AA mechanic (called by Land Rover Assist) reckons it was to do with the immobiliser.
We did as we have been told - drove slowly so didn't cause a "bow wave", kept the engine running, we only had to stop for a couple of seconds as the car in front decided to have a chat with the car next to it.
It is quite new - just coming up for 3 years old - will it be fixed based on warranty (it does state 50cm depth of water) or will I have to pay? Any other ideas of what could have caused it if it wasn't the water?

Puma's don't have wading plugs. I've seen Defenders do wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy more than 500mm and be fine. When you look at what can be impacted, it's all pretty high up. The main issue is that at 600mm the doors leak in water, so your carpets get wet.
If it's at max 400mm like you say, then this is probably nothing to do with it. The electrics probably just playing up in an unconnected incident.
The only other thing I can think of is if you're electrics got splashed... but tbh, the ECU in a puma is way up high in the engine bay, the batteries and some other electric gubbins under the front seats, so hard for water to get up there again.

Car is at the dealer now ... first time they can look at it will be the 2nd of January. Got a Discovery Sport now as a temporary cover - quite like it but it is a bit smaller!
