opinions on chopard mille miglia watches
Discussion
recently been considering changing my old brietling for something a bit different and quite like the look of the the chopard mille miglia watches.
I know very little about them, does anyone have one or have any opinions on them?
I'd be looking at £2.5-3k used one and would ideally be looking for it to hold it's value for next time I get bored and fancy a change.
or any other recommendations for for a similar cost, I like the look of the Orange Planet Oceans so that was the other option I was tempted by.

They are beautifully made, and in my opinion look great. I wore a 2008 for a while. The tyre strap is very comfortable. They are not a very well known brand, so if recognition is at all important to you, go with the Omega PO.
Mine kept it's value relatively well, but it took a little time to sell it, as there is not a massive demand for them.

In 2011 I bought a secondhand 2006 model (black faced version of the white faced one above), in great condition and freshly serviced by Chopard, through their Bond Street boutique. When I got a good offer for it this year, I was only too happy to p/x it against another watch.
I desperately wanted to like it but compared to my other watches (speedmaster pro, IWC ingenieur, Carrera, aqua terra), it always felt quite flimsy and had a noisy movement and a slightly clunky secondhand.
I have the impression my old watch came from an early period in the product life, when quality might not have been at its best. Oddly, on the back of the watch, it gave a water resistance rating of 50m but there was a certificate from Chopard saying it was actually 100m!!
Maybe I had a bad one. Whilst it looked very nice, I didn't think it felt like a particularly well made watch (and that's from an owner of a Carrera reissue). I took it into the boutique a couple of times to look at new strap options and made my concerns known but was only greeted with a shrug.
