Early cars had quick racks and different suspension components to later cars produced after about September 2001. If you were a mx5 driving hair dresser it would be a handful, hence people struggled with them. If on the other hand you could drive a CAR that was sensitive and precise, like a go kart you'll be fine.

they are very quick in terms of rack though the spacers on the front wheels do remove a level of twitchyness

Do run along, shouldn't you be in the cheap and nasty French car section.

I've got a very early Tuscan (2000) and whilst the rack is quick, I and everyone who has driven it thinks its fantastic! Even the wife said "oohh, nice steering" !

I can only assume location and possibly time of year. The purple carpets wouldn't be to my taste but there are many out there with equally loud interiors and given the nature of the wild design, in many ways they are more in keeping than safe beige/grey/black. Rolex Blue is always an admired colour. As has been said many times, whilst the early cars weren't clever out of the box suspension wise, they can be fettled very well. If I was in the market for one now, I would seriously consider it and I did indeed buy mine at this time of year.
