Maurice TRINTIGNANT "Pétoulet" died this morning 1h 30' a.m. in France in its property of "Mas d'Arnaud" Vergèze Gard, aged 87 years.

84 F-1 GP's entries - 81 GPs driven - 2 wins
He also won the 1954 LE Mans battle with codriver Jose Froilan Gonzales at the wheel of a Ferrari.
He leaves Lorette, his wife and Morgan her son.

There are quite a few drivers around who raced front engined cars - some even in F1 sanctioned events. Paul Frere has already been mentioned. Dan Gurney drove for Ferrari in 1960 - in both sports and F1 cars. Cliff Allison also drove front engined Ferraris.
What I was curious about was the number of surviving drivers who had actually won Grand Prix races in a front engined car. I think my list as suggested is probably all that there are now.
