The day dawned sunny and warm, and the dog and I were keen to start our adventures...

The dog is a sable-coloured German Shepherd named Copper. She is a keen traveller, and enjoys her parcel shelf. She has a proper car harness, and I used leather leads through the seat belt fittings to secure her. She was very able to keep the AtoZ open on the transmission tunnel to navigate through the countryside
We stopped at a petrol station outside Witney for a drink. This is where a new topic "It finally happened to me" should begin. Turn the key: nothing All gauges OK, fuel pump works, etc...yes, immobilizer light off. Visions of previous PH topics dance through my head. I wait 10 minutes, then Vrrooooomm...why???!!!! Too hot?? WHAT?? Never happened before...

Get to Cheltenham, drop dog off in restful cool of friend's flat, go for lunch. Meet up afterwards with M@H and Caro for a spin. Ruby's battery is flat. Some contortionist's manouevring, and off we go through the Gloucestershire countryside. Brilliant run Stop up on a hill to take in the view, after about 20 minutes. Ruby won't start. I am getting good at undoing all the carpet in the passenger footwell!

We return to town, pick up my dog, leaving the car running outside, guarded by Caro. Shame about the battery, as I was afraid to turn off the car and let Copper out in the hills for a good run. I believe the drive home (about 80miles) will have charged the battery up, but I think I will have it checked/changed next week at her 36K service.

Matt, nice work , great to meet you. I'm glad the S2 has its' battery in the 'proper' place - under the bonnet!!! Caro, good to see you again. We have to have a 'TVR Girl's Night' soon. I had a great day, and other than the battery, the car behaved impeccably As for photos, Caro had a camera, and took some shots. Stay tuned...

Anyone else with amusing adventures to share??

Used to live in Cleeve, now just outside Tewkesbury. If you're around the area some time give myself and Gaffer a shout and we'd love to meet up if you fancy. No TVR (yet) but working on it...

Yep...count me in. I work in Bishops Cleeve so can meet up at lunch.

Roop works in Stroud so is difficlt for him on a weekday unless he gets time off, so a weekend is better.

We will be knocking around on Monday 9th September (my birthday) after I have been for a lesson at Pammy Huttons place

Looking forward to it.

Sounds good to me! There are other good drives around - Sam, who came along for the ride with us, said out to cranham woods is good. He's obviously been brought up right, fancies a Tuscan.

There's a Tuscan in Worcester that might be able to come down to play with the other TVR's if you want.

Does that Tuscan not want to come and play with the TVRCC Cotswold 3 Counties region then or is the thought of the girlies more attractive?

Roop and myself will probably be at the next meeting minus a TVR unless I can blag one from the factory.

Can you send us the details nearer the time...?

Be pleased to, will drop you an e mail rather than bore everybody else. Will be very interested to hear your tales of the factory.

I'll be honest Mart.. having done the 3counties meet one night, and then been with the girlies the following day... the Girlies win hands down I'm afraid..

Cheers,
Matt

Nobody said that being honest was a pre-requisite for C3C. Looks like we may get at least one of the girlies joining us at our next meet but you don't have to come if you don't want to

Next time I am in the Cheltenham area for the day, I will post a topic giving all a chance to skive (sp?) off and go for a blat around the countryside. It will likely be within the next month, mid-week, probably a Friday.
Hmmm...where's my calendar???!!!

Hmmmmmm?

Girls with nice cars ... boys with nice cars?
Girls with nice cars ... boys with nice cars?

Fraid that the girls would win the day! Why not girls and boys with nice cars all together making nice noises (I mean the cars of course!).

Let me know dates for Cheltenham cruising and TVRCC Cotswold 3 Counties and we'll see if we can do both.
