Just planning the next lads road trip for next year and one part of this is to do the whole of route napoleon. I imagine there are quite a few PHers who have done this, any tips? Did you do the whole thing in one day?

Weve done quite a few of the other passes but this one seems a lot longer so just wondering if its worth doing in a day or taking a bit longer?

It's easily doable in a day, but then there are many amazing roads just off of it too!

It is epic in parts but often busy and you can get stuck behind loads of German camper vans

+1 Too much traffic as it seems to be quite a main route, Peel off to the east after Digne and go in search of some small mountain roads and you won't be disappointed, the D78 Col des Champs sticks out in my mind for some of the most amazing views.
