Bargain Bike Sales (last year's model reductions)

I got an email this week, detailing some really rather tasty price reductions at the shop where I bought my road bike back in February.
Sadly, for me, none of the sale Hardtail MTBs is a suitable size. But it got me thinking about somewhere we could all post details of genuine bargains we've spotted, either on the web, or at local bike shops and even the national chains.
Hopefully at least a few of us might be introduced to a bargain bike in the right size through this thread.
Here's the list from Pedal On, a LBS in Tadley, near Reading, which also has a healthy internet presence...

...usual caveats apply about limited stocks, and not available in your choice of sizes, but some decent reductions all the same. This was the one that stood out for me...

...now if only I wasn't a shorty, this'd be perfect for what I want.
[Other than being a customer, I have no connection with Pedal On. I can recommend them very highly, though, as they stock a good choice of top brands, a wide variety of clothing and accessories, and were a pleasure to deal with when buying my Emonda back in February.]

Youre having a giraffe! Save money on a build? Mine cost me so much more due to "oooo shiney" LOL. Seriously though yes you can build on a budget and at least you can spec what you need and not what someone else gives you. Also saved searches on Ebay can come up with some proper bargains if youre not in a hurry. My first build was a no holds barred lightweight racing hardtail based on an Orange E8 Pro frame and cost me roughly £3K. My second build based on an Onone Inbred was a 1 x 10 based on SRAM x9 and cost me £1250 over a 9 month build. yellowjack said:

In my experience, the bikes in the sales are usually the unpopular models/colours and usually in the more uncommon sizes. Sadly, for me, none of the sale Hardtail MTBs is a suitable size. Cannondale SuperSix always end up heavily reduced in the sales. Design is a classic, but I think they are looking dated now compared to bikes of a similar price from other big manufacturers.
My next bike will probably be bought under the C2C scheme and sale bikes are usually excluded from the scheme
Shame really, as I do like a bargain.
