Hi, I have recently purchased a 2003,Series 3 Caterham, ex Grad / Mega Grad race car for use on Track days and sprinting. Its a De Dion with Sierra diff. The rear discs where in a bit of a state so stripped down. I have discovered that the outer CV Joint threads are quite badly damaged. Does anyone know which car these are likely to have come from along with the outer hub bearings and seals.
Thanks, John

Rear wheel bearings are Ford Sierra.
On a 2003 car, the drive shafts are going to be bespoke Caterham, made by GKN, but GKN won't normally supply direct to the public :-(

Hi
Thanks for the quick response. I'm sure your right about the bespoke CV joints, makes it a very expensive repair.
Re the Bearings and Seals, do you happen to know which sierra, approx year etc so I can get the seals from the local ford or factor shop. When I get the bearings out I hope to be able to match the numbers that should be engraved on the backs.
Thanks
John

Hi when you have it stripped down you can remove the outer CV joint and replace that at the sametime you do the bearings, the threads are not on the end of the drive shaft the cv joint is, again available from the factors.

Hi, Its all stripped down and the threads that are damaged are the ones at the end of the CV Joints ( those that require 200FtLb of torque.)
