166 TS Grinding Noise From Clutch at 3K RPM
Discussion
I'm running a 166 2.0 TS 6-speed manual (~35k miles on the clock). Engine running very well (just fully serviced including cambelt).
One issue remaining - there appears to be a grinding, rumbling noise coming from the front underside when I'm in gear and the engine reaches 3K RPM. The sound is audible in every gear, and only at a very narrow band around 3k RPM (ie, it disappears when the engine is above or below that). Pressing the clutch stops the noise. Clutch is not slipping.
Anyone have a clue what the issue could be? I think the car has been sitting unused for a period of time, but I cannot confirm.
Thanks,
Tony
