I'm heading down to the finale of the trucks at Brands Hatch this week. Never been down there before (but have been to Truck Racing twice and loved it!) but really looking forward to it. I'm after recommendations of where to watch the racing from, from what I've seen areas are (understandably) out of bounds for safety reasons and I'm guessing the Paddockhill area will be one of them as would Druids?
Anyone else going along? Looks like it's gearing up to be quite interesting driving.

Cheers,

Lugy

You can see most of the circuit from everywhere.

Paddock Hill is good or where they exit Clearways onto the main straight.

Paddock isn't out of bounds for the trucks although it is massively busy around that area and up the hill towards druids. The best advice really is to get there early.

Another thing to be aware of is at Brands because of the tightness of the track there are often red flags and delays due to barrier damage etc so the timetable is a bit of a working document!

Cheers, I'll do my best to get a spot on Paddockhill I think, I gathered that the timetable was 'rough times' after many red flags at the one we watched at Donnington though they did well in the circumstances!

The problem with Brands vs Donington/ Snetterton etc is that there isn't as much run off so they tend to hit the barrier faster and harder! and when one does they generally take quite a bit out. The circuit guys earn their money repairing armco at these meetings!

Enjoy though trucks at Brands are awesome.

As an aside depending on the weather it might be worth looking at parking on South bank so that you can still watch the racing from the comfort of your car!

South Bank is usually closed for the fireworks for this event.

I will be there - always fun.

For the fireworks South Bank has a restricted area Map here but is still open.

if you wish to park inside the circuit, south bank etc, get there EARLY! I mean 8am early. It gets very, very busy for this event.

Not sure we'll make it there for 8 on the Saturday, staying over nearby so doable for Sunday!

I find the inside of Druids is a good spot. A few of the drivers aren't averse to a spot of drifting around there on the warm up /slow down laps, Brian Burt [IIRC] in the white and pink White in particular(not much fencing either, so really good if you're looking to take photos)

Saturday is much quieter so no need to be there so early smile At the start of racing would be fine
