Goes without saying the 458 is an epic bit of kit and is honestly the most exciting, thrilling car I have owned..
I have little idea where improvement can be found in the world of exotics without spending seemingly ludicrous amounts
of dosh being asked re Speciale's, Porsche RS's (or just about any thing with slightly limited production numbers)

It seems the 991 GT3 has cooled slightly with a fair few on the market which has spiked my interest... Without worrying too much about residuals would I feel a little short changed re the driving and ownership proposition in comparison to the Italia ??

Well one way to find out....... My 458 advert is live!!

I think you would have to be crazy, but if you have had your time in the 458 and want a change a 991 GT3 is a safe bet.

Of course the 458's biggest draw is the engine and exhaust. You would need to put an Innotech on a GT3 to match it in terms of theatre.

Otherwise, let's remember that the GT3 has been piched against the Speciale and faired very well. Certainly from a driving point of view then it is every bit as good if not better than a 458, and shares the equal caveat of being too fast for the road.

For me it's somewhat down to how you feel about the brands. I like that the GT3 looks like a race car. My personal view of Ferarri's is that they are a cliched, lottery-winners choice. Yet i'm happy to look like a child / attention seeker in a GT3 laugh Horses for courses!

As a Porsche driver I wouldn't. Just sitting in a 458 makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up, GT3 - meh. 650S is the only car I'd chopa 458 for and even then you lsoe a lot of the drama of the cabin and noise.

As an ex 997 Gt3 and Gt3 RS owner and a current 458 owner I think you are bonkers; while the 991 Gt3 is clearly a wonderful car (not first hand experience) it's a swap that has never even crossed my mind! The RS on the other hand..... But that is academic as the relative prices are on different planets given they are at different stages of the product cycle and therefore also supply.

I appreciate everyone has different tastes but, for me personally, if I needed to scratch another itch I'd try the Macca.

Some interesting thoughts and views. Thanks.

I too have been fortunate owning most 911's (RS/GT2 etc) and various other tasty bits... Just struggling to come up with a viable logical move, not necessarily upwards but maybe sideways!! Maybe there isn't one.. Maybe I've 'peaked'!!

All good fun

I couldn't swap a 458 for a GT3. I would possibly have a Macca 570s over the GT3 too. If you really want the Pork get your name down for the 991.2 GT3 and enjoy the last of the NA Fezza's for a while longer.

Out of my budget I'm afraid smile Hell of a car though, crikey. Trouble with a very low miler is I do want to use it and the premium paid for "new" like this would be lost.

Hi SM - She is indeed an eyeful.. And me being a high spec/low mile 'junkie' very satisfying to own. However I always do this - get something
unique with stupid low use and then become too scared to do the using bit!!
